Nationalization Management
Important information about the customs process and import tax payment.
All packages entering the country must pass through Customs inspection (DGA). All packages whose CIF (Cost+Insurance+Freight) value exceeds $100.00 are subject to taxes. The Nationalization Management fee will be charged according to the CIF value of the package. To find out the tax amount to pay, use our online calculator.
What happens if my purchase exceeds $100?
All packages whose CIF (Cost + Insurance + Freight) value exceeds $100.00 and is subject to import taxes.
- The Nationalization Management fee is charged according to the CIF value of the package.
- A fixed charge applies for the customs process plus the % of taxes corresponding to the type of merchandise.
If the value of your purchase exceeds $100 CIF or requires a special procedure for importation, our team can help you with the nationalization process and customs management so that you receive your cargo safely and without complications. Contact us and we will gladly advise you throughout the process.

Regulations and Special Notes
Packages valued up to $100 (CIF value: cost + insurance + freight) are exempt from Customs Tax. Based on Law No. 53 of December 13, 2007 approving the Trade Promotion Agreement between the Republic of Panama and the United States of America, as well as Decree 12 of March 29, 2016.
- All merchandise with a CIF value exceeding USD $2,000 pays a fee of USD $100 to the state, in addition to import taxes.
- Packages with a CIF value less than USD $100.00, consigned to an individual, are exempt from import taxes.
